About us

Pattern Solutions AS was established in February 2007 in cooperation with Bergen University College. Bergen Technology Transfer (BTO AS) has now taken over this ownership.

Pattern Solutions develops technology to carry out analysis of huge sets of data. Such a field is denoting datamining or pattern recognition.

In addition the company carries out consutative services on the technology that is developed. The company consists today of 7 persons where many have a master degree in software engineering.

Pattern Solution is also supported by Innovation Norway and is a member in the european network Enterprise Europe Network.

By use of technology from Pattern Solutions one can carry out analyis of many different sets of data to identify for instance deseases in an early phase such as cancer, autism, ADHD, Epilepsy, etc.

Terje Kristensen
Manager
Terje Kristensen is the founder of the company. He is educated as applied mathematician from University of Bergen. In addition he has a degree in Computer Science. He is working today as a professor in Informatics of Bergen University College. He stands behind the development of the software package javANN. He has also published many papers in informatics and has written many books in ICT.

Anne Jorunn Kristensen
Economical responsible
Anne Jorunn Kristensen is educated as a civil economist from Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH). She has a master in accounting and auditing at NHH.

Helga Jónsdóttir
Statistician
Helga Jonsdottir has a dr. degree in biology/biostatistics from Norwegian University of Science and Technology, NTNU. She is now working as an associate professor at Bergen University College at the Faculty of Engineering, teaching mathematics and statistics. She has been employed as an associate professor in statistics at NTNU for some years and as a statistician at the company deCODE genetics in Iceland for several years.

Alvhild Alette Bjørkum
Biomedical developer
Alvhild Alette Bjørkum has a dr. degree in neurophysiology from University of Bergen, Norway. She is working as an associate professor at Bergen University College at the Biomedical laboratory Sciences program at the Faculty of Engineering. She has been a Fulbright research fellow and a visiting professor at Harvard University for several years. She has published many papers internationally.

Remy Andre Monsen
Software  developer
Remy has taken a master degree in software engineering at Bergen University College. He has now a position as an assistant professor at Bergen University College. He is teaching both at the bachelor and master level in software development. His interests include complex software systems, agent technology, neural networks and mobile systems.

Vemund Jakobsen
Software developer
Vemund has taken a master degree in software engineering at Bergen Univeristy College, at the Institute of Computer Engineering and Mathematics. The title of his master thesis was "Data Clustring with Visualization". His interest include machine learning, adaptive algorithms, data clustring and graphical visualization methods.

Runar Halse Kristiansen

Runar has taken a master degree in software engineering at Bergen University College at the Institute of Computer Engineering and Mathematics. His interests include besides mobile systems, where he has taken his master degree, design and development of software systems and specifically multi-agent systems 

Øyvind Bech
Software developer
Øyvind is taking a master degree in software engineering at Bergen University College  at the Instistute of Computer Engineering and Mathematics. His interests include design and development of complex software systems and specifically agent based systems.
